Guidance: many logistics organisations are at Level 2–3 today. From Level 4 onwards, the advantage of data-driven control becomes tangible.

The five maturity levels of logistics digitalisation

The maturity level describes how strongly data, automation and intelligent control are integrated into everyday logistics. It ranges from purely reactive, manual processes to largely autonomous, data-driven control. The check is a self-assessment and serves to determine your current position.

    LevelMaturity levelCharacteristics
1ReactivePredominantly manual, siloed solutions, reaction instead of planning
2DefinedProcesses documented, first systems, isolated metrics
3ConnectedSystems connected, core processes automated, ongoing reporting
    4Data-drivenDecisions data-based, forecasts, high transparency
5AutonomousSelf-controlling processes, AI assistance, exception handling

Self-assessment for orientation purposes – not an audit or certification. The dimensions are weighted equally.
